According to a report that was published in the Midland Reporter-Telegram, Clint Black has decided not to make an appearance as the headlining act at the upcoming Black Gold Bash that will take place in Midland, Texas. The hitmaker from the ’90s had to cancel his appearance at the event because of a health problem.
According to a statement released by a spokesperson for Black, the singer “needs to undergo a procedure on his back prior to his performance,” and as he recovers, he will be unable to do any live performances.
At the Black Gold Bash, which is slated to take place on June 7, a replacement for Black’s headline role has already been secured, and that spot will be filled by Clay Walker. The event, which is now in its fifth year, is a cooperation with Oilfield Helping Hands and generates money to benefit families of those working in the oilfield business who are going through difficult medical situations or other times of financial need.
According to Country Now, Black’s ongoing medical concerns will cause him to postpone a few more dates on the 2023 Summer’s Comin’ Tour that he is currently planning. Four events that were slated to take place in June have been moved to a later date. These performances were originally slated to take place in Overland Park, Kansas; Catoosa, Oklahoma; Round Rock, Texas; and Fort Worth, Texas; the new dates for these gigs have been set for October 27, December 28, August 4, and August 5, respectively.
In addition, Black’s performance that was scheduled to take place in Abilene, Texas on June 16 has been postponed.
According to the information provided on Black’s official website, the Summer’s Comin’ Tour will now begin on June 24 at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds Annex in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. In the meantime, the singer is maintaining his role as host on his Circle Network show, Talking in Circles With Clint Black, where he continues to welcome a star-studded cast of musical guests.
