Ricki Lake came under fire for posting a completely nude photo

The “best” times in Ricki Lake’s life are currently taking place.

On Monday, the former host of a talk show posted a selfie to Instagram in which she showed off her skin and her emotions.

The picture shows Lake, 54, smiling and fully clothed as she relaxes in an outdoor tub surrounded by large redwood trees.

She stated unequivocally, “These days are the best of my life.”

“Young at 54 and a half years old!” I’m grateful for everything that had to happen in order for me to get here. “A place of complete self-acceptance and self-love,” she remarked.

Although Lake began her journey toward self-love in 2019, she didn’t go public with it until 2022.

She posted an unpublished video of herself shaving her head in December 2022.

video from the current year (2019). She acknowledged her 30-year fight with androgenetic alopecia, the cause of her hair loss, in the video’s caption.

I felt like sharing this unedited video footage now even though I have never done so before for all of you who have followed my path and have showed interest in it, Lake wrote in the caption. I want you to know that I truly understand your suffering since I know that some of you have directly experienced my battle.

In this movie, you can see me achieving a level of tranquility, freedom, and—most importantly—self-love and self-acceptance.

Since shaving her head, Lake’s hair has grown back in, and she has come to terms with the fact that she has “natural gray and occasionally wild unruly head of hair.”

“May everyone who is struggling find acceptance and peace. Life is much too short.

She won’t back down, despite the fact that some users think the image is objectionable.

One person said, “I don’t know why someone must display oneself in such a manner,” and another responded, “That’s all fine and good, but why do we have to see it, just wondering.” I think it’s pretty weird to post an almost nude photo of oneself online. Just my opinion.

She didn’t reply to any of them, but she didn’t seem bothered by them either. We have the freedom to recognize the freedom of the creators whose work we like to share anything they choose.

What do you think about what she posted online?

Her key remark, in our opinion, merits special attention. Worrying about things we cannot control is a waste of time. We must have the capacity to accept and love ourselves, warts and all!
