Al Roker and his wife get ready for a challenging goodbye

The popular weatherman had to miss two months of the show because of a serious health issue.

Al Roker’s illness has been difficult for him and his family to deal with, and it has been a trying time for everyone.

The Today host had to give up hosting duties and take a leave of absence from the program due to blood clots that made their way to his lungs.

Although his health has, thankfully, improved, Al is preparing for a challenging departure with his family, which includes his wife Deborah Roberts and their children Nick, Leila, and Courtney. Al and his family had been praying for his health to improve.

The youngest kid, Nick, whose father is a parent of three, is preparing to return to college as family life begins to return to normal.

Deborah wrote on Instagram that she would find it tough to see him go because he had supported them all from their apartment in New York when he had been at home for the holidays.

The college student could be seen in the photo that the ABC journalist posted doing what he loves to do most, which is cooking up a storm.

She praised herself by writing, “Well done Wednesday.” “Good cooking, @nickroker155.” Your talents will be missed by us now that you’ll be focusing on your education. Gratitude, favorite son, and happy mother.

Al and Nick used to present a lot of food segments, and many viewers have said they miss seeing them together in the kitchen.

Al and Deborah now have an empty nest as a result of Nick’s relocation and his summer college enrollment.

Al talked about the recent health scare he had gone through and thanked his kids for being there for him during it after fully recovering.

The difficult period was described by Deborah as “the worst thing we’ve ever endured as a family and as a wife.” The circumstance, according to her, was “the hardest thing we’ve ever faced.”

Al said, “whether I had understood how bad it actually was, I’m not sure whether I would have been able to maintain the cheery attitude that I had. She was effective in hiding the reality of the situation from him. When I passed them in the corridor, I had no idea they were crying.

He added the following details to the interview that was shown on Today: “Nick would pass by every 15 or 20 minutes and lean down, kiss me on the head, and say, ‘I love you, Dad.'”

Al is finally back at work and feeling as wonderful as ever physically and psychologically after a very trying period of time.
