The Willis family is showering Bruce with love and joy as they serenade him with happy birthday wishes on his special day.
On Sunday, in honor of Willis’ 68th birthday, his ex-wife Demi Moore posted a home video to Instagram that featured the family singing a hearty rendition of “Happy Birthday” and serving him a dessert with candles. The video also featured Willis’ wife Emma Heming Willis and his children.
Willis beamed and raised his fists in the air, grinning broadly as his family clapped and yelled in unison. After that, he extinguished the birthday candles on his cake to cheers and acclaim from the crowd, which was then followed by a chorus of “Hip-hip, hooray!”
“Best wishes on your birthday, BW! We are overjoyed to be able to honor you today, “Moore provided the video’s captions. “I adore you and I adore our entire family. We would want to express our gratitude to everyone for the love and support that they have shown us.”
The footage of the celebration that took place on Sunday is the first video of him that his family has uploaded on social media since they disclosed that the actor has frontotemporal dementia.
Last month, when the family broke the news that Willis had been diagnosed with FTD, they issued a joint statement in which they said, “Bruce has never had trouble finding happiness in life, and he has encouraged everyone else he knows to do the same. The fact that he and all of us have been shown the same level of concern by others has been quite meaningful. During this trying time, the love that you all have shown for our cherished husband, father, and friend has moved us to tears on more than one occasion.”
They came to the conclusion that if people continued to show compassion, understanding, and respect for Bruce, it would make it possible for him to have a life that was as complete as it could be.
The word frontotemporal dementia refers to a set of brain disorders that pose a threat to the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain. It is an all-encompassing phrase for these conditions. This means that sections of these lobes atrophy, and the shrinking of these areas can create problems with speech, changes in personality, and emotional concerns.
