Entire Guthrie Family Urged to Take Polygraph Tests

In the highly unusual and still unresolved disappearance of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, media figures and commentators are calling for the entire Guthrie family — including her daughter, television host Savannah Guthrie — to submit to voluntary lie detector tests as part of the ongoing investigation.

Nancy Guthrie, who is the mother of Today show co-anchor Savannah Guthrie, was reported missing from her home in Catalina Foothills, Arizona at the end of January 2026 after she failed to show up for a church service and was not found at home by her family. Authorities later treated the incident as a possible abduction after evidence at the scene suggested foul play rather than a routine disappearance.

Despite extensive search efforts by local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies — including the Pima County Sheriff’s Department and the FBI — no suspects or persons of interest have been publicly identified. Investigators have used search dogs, drones, and forensic teams to comb the area while also examining ransom notes sent to media outlets that demanded a substantial payment, though details about those notes remain unclear.

Commentator Greg Gutfeld, host of Gutfeld! on Fox News, suggested on air that nothing in the case “makes sense” at this stage and proposed that family members, including Savannah Guthrie, could voluntarily undergo polygraph tests to help dispel public speculation about their involvement or knowledge of what happened to Nancy.

The call for polygraph tests reflects growing public interest and scrutiny of the circumstances surrounding the disappearance, though law enforcement has not said that any family members are officially considered suspects.

Meanwhile, the Guthrie family has been publicly pleading for information and attempting to communicate with anyone potentially responsible. Savannah Guthrie and her siblings have released emotional video appeals asking for proof of life and publicly reiterating their willingness to cooperate with authorities and follow any leads that could lead to their mother’s safe return.

As of now, the investigation continues, and officials have not confirmed any credible sightings, suspects, or arrests connected to Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance.
