It’s appropriate to congratulate Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald, who will soon have a family of seven. The couple revealed their pregnancy on Saturday, September 9, via an Instagram Story and a subsequent YouTube video that included additional information on the fetus.
After a tragic loss last year, Jessa captioned the photo, “After a heartbreaking loss last year, we are so grateful God has blessed us with a rainbow baby,” alluding to the miscarriage she had during the holidays the year before. Sons Spurgeon, 7, and Henry, 6, as well as daughters Ivy, 3, and Fern, 18 months, are already present in the family.
Jessa revealed that they only found out about the pregnancy one week ago, so they have a long journey ahead of them. The baby is due somewhere in 2024. When Jessa Duggar initially announced in February 2023 that she was expecting baby No. 5, she quickly clarified that she had miscarried at only 11 weeks. When they found out about the devastating miscarriage, she remarked, “Nothing could have prepared me for the weight of those words in that moment.
She described how her morning sickness had been “amplified” and that she had been’spotting’ (bleeding) a little bit before the miscarriage on a YouTube video at the time. The doctor delivered the heartbreaking news during one of her ultrasound checkups, leaving Jessa and Ben feeling helpless.
The couple had already miscarried, which only made the grief worse. They experienced their first miscarriage in 2020, by which time they had already given birth to Spurgeon, Henry, and Ivy. To prevent any more sorrow after the miscarriage, they thought about adopting or fostering a kid but eventually decided against it.
Instead, they ended up becoming parents once more in 2021, giving birth to daughter Fern Elliana, their fourth child as a couple, in July of that year. And although their second miscarriage put a hold on their efforts to have a fifth child, it now seems like they are on track and eager to welcome yet another rainbow baby.
While the couple’s pregnancy was undoubtedly the focus of their most recent YouTube video, it wasn’t the only item they shared with their viewers. The couple captured a romantic holiday they had earlier this year without their children in the video, which was labeled “A Baby on the Way & Romantic Getaway!”
The couple decided to send the kids off to “Granny’s house” so they can take a much-needed vacation even though they haven’t had much time to do so over the past seven years thanks to having four children in that time. The beach is the best, most tranquil location of all.
The film, which lasted a little over 26 minutes, featured a montage of all the amazing meals, sights, noises, and activities they took part in while traveling. It also had some images and videos of their kids’ good behavior and their enjoyment while they were abroad that they had gotten from their mother.
In April 2013, while they were both 20 years old and attending church, Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald first met. Two of her brothers became friends with him, and they finally began dating. On August 4, 2014, Ben proposed, and they wed on November 1, 2014, and they’ve been a happy couple ever since.
