The twins JamieLynn and AmieLynn Finley, who was born in October 2022 and underwent an 11-hour operation in January, are now back in Texas.
A Texas family is honoring the life of the daughters who were once linked at the hip.
James Finley and Amanda Arciniega had twins JamieLynn and AmieLynn Finley on October 3, 2022 in Fort Worth, Texas. The couple was the first set of conjoined twins to be separated at Cook Children’s Hospital Center three months later.
According to a press release from the hospital, Jamie Lynn was the first patient to leave the facility on March 21. AmieLynn followed on April 7.
Their family celebrated last weekend with a special baby shower, according to Good Morning America, which was able to secure a video of the amazing event.
One of the visitors was Brianne Galban, a nurse who looked after the twins while they were in the hospital. She remarked on GMA, “I’m really excited to visit them and meet their entire family. “I adore them now. To me, they are like family.
Now that they are home again after being discharged from the hospital, their mother said that “everything is good.”
The treatment that separated JamieLynn and AmieLynn three months after their birth reportedly took 11 hours to complete, according to Cook Children’s Hospital Center.
On the team were more than a dozen medical experts, including one plastic surgeon for each girl, three anesthesiologists, and four pediatric surgeons.
AmieLynn also needed specialized care while recuperating from a different chest surgery, according to the hospital.
However, a lot has changed in the months since the twins were split up. In spite of their mother’s assertion that they “still need a lot of therapy,” several relatives were allowed to hold them during the shower.
The parents of the children informed the media outlet that they are eager to see what happens next because they can already feel their girls’ personalities coming through.
James Finley, the father, previously told NBC station KXAS-TV, “It’s kind of like starting over.”
Surgery was the first beginning, and now we are starting a new one at home.
After the twins were released, Arciniega told the hospital in a statement that “it’s definitely a weight lifted.”
