Priscilla Presley, the King of Rock and Roll’s ex-wife, will participate in the August 27 jewelry auction of a collection that Elvis Presley gave to Colonel Tom Parker, his manager, according to Reuters.
200 items, including gem-encrusted gold rings, cufflinks, watches, and necklaces, have been brought in for the event organized by auction house GWS Auctions. One of the items up for auction is the guitar that Elvis Presley famously played on his 1968 Televised “comeback.”
“Oh, it will certainly bring back memories,” Priscilla Presley said.
She added that it was a recurring joke for her ex-husband to constantly buy or buy jewelry for Parker while having no idea what else to get her. The manager already had everything he needed, she said.
Priscilla Presley claimed to be protective of some of the items since she made them, such as the logo artifacts for the TCB Band, and the musicians that formed the band behind Presley in his later years.
Priscilla Presley stated that one of the reasons she supported the auction was that she had become tired of individuals trying to get rid of fake goods.
She said, “I’m worried since so many of the things are fake.
“I want to know for sure that they’re going to end up with someone who will take care of them, who will love them,” Priscilla Presley stated.
According to Reuters, Universal Music has acquired the “king of rock-and-roll” Elvis Presley’s music library, which includes well-known songs like “Can’t Help Falling in Love” and “Jailhouse Rock,” through a deal with Authentic Brands Group.
Nonetheless, Universal Music Publishing Group asserted that it will be able to make money from the use of Elvis Presley’s songs in media, including movies and television programs. The acquisition’s financial terms were not made public.
Elvis Presley’s discography is currently protected by the copyrights of Authentic Brands Group. Companies having connections to Marilyn Monroe and Muhammad Ali are also part of this company’s portfolio.
Elvis Presley is the best-selling solo artist of all time with albums and singles having sold more than 500 million copies worldwide. The American performer has the most songs ever to appear in the Billboard Top 40, with 114 of them.
