A rescue group takes in a badly matted dog that looks like a wig. Today, she can’t be recognized.
When a dog has been abused or left outside, a haircut can make all the difference in the world. These dogs’ fur gets tangled and matted a lot, which makes them unhappy.
There was a stray dog recently that was found with so much fur that she looked like a wig. But things turned out better for her when a rescue group took her in and gave her a complete makeover.
This badly matted dog was found in the middle of the road in Missouri. It was saved by Mac’s Mission, a non-profit dog rescue group. The dog, whose name was now Pear, was in terrible shape and had thick, tangled fur all over its body.

The rescue said Pear didn’t even look like a dog anymore; she was more like a wig or a bunch of hair.
An animal rescue group took Pear in and got a group of volunteers to help her. They groomed her in a special way to get rid of all the dirt on her fur.
The founder of the rescue, Rochelle Steffen, told Newsweek, “We cleaned her up, shaved her, and gave her a bath to get rid of any dirt and fleas.” “After that, we put her down in one of our rooms, and she quickly fell asleep.”
Pear was very patient and behaved well the whole time. “She was so nice that she just sat there while we worked for a long time to get the thick mats out of her fur.”
Steffen also said that Pear was lucky that she didn’t have any maggots in her fur and that she had not been hit by a car. Pear, on the other hand, is missing one eye, probably because of an old injury.
Mac’s Mission shared pictures of Pear’s treatment before and after, showing what an amazing difference it made.
The rescue group thanked everyone on Facebook and said that Pear has a bright future because of everyone’s help.

Thank you to Mac’s Mission for changing this cute dog into something better. It is amazing how beautiful the pear looks now.
