This news is upsetting. Rest in peace.

Regrettably, John Beasley, a well-known actor who made an impact in The Soul Man and Everwood, passed away at the age of 79.

It was revealed on Tuesday that John had liver issues and had been taken to the hospital in Omaha, Nebraska, where he was born.

His condition “unexpectedly deteriorated.” Mike Beasley, his son, posted a lovely photo and a touching note on Facebook to share his father’s loss.

Mike paid his father a sincere tribute. Even while you are aware that this is a reality, he noted, “it still isn’t any easier.” “I lost my best friend today. They caution against ever meeting your idols since they frequently aren’t what you anticipate. Such an error. To me, my father was a hero. I’m grateful for everything. I cherish you more.

John’s interest in performing was kindled when he first got involved in theater at a young age. His initial position was completely different; according to IMDb, he spent seven years working as a train clerk for the Union Pacific railroad. He acknowledged, though, that he clung tenaciously to the fantasy that his ambitions would materialize.

He continued, “I knew those things would come, even when I was in college,” and he added that he didn’t believe a college education was required to achieve his objectives.

John’s acting career officially began with 1989’s Rapid Fire, which served as his first performing credit. But when he was offered a recurring role in the Oprah Winfrey-hosted sitcom Brewster Place, his career took off.

Famous films like The Mighty Ducks from 1992, Crazy in Alabama from 1997, and The General’s Daughter from 1999 all featured John’s talent.

John is best recognized for his role as Irv Harper, Edna Harper’s husband, in the critically acclaimed television series Everwood (2002–2006).

Following Everwood, John collaborated with Cedric the Entertainer to enchant fans in the 2012 television series The Soul Man, in which he played Barton Ballentine, the father of Cedric’s character.

Even in the later years of his life, John remained active in the theater. He took part in the Chicago Shakespeare Theater’s production of The Notebook as a musical in October.

John never stopped appreciating his work. Being a professional artist is the highest calling, and I enjoy whatever it leads me, he previously told American Theatre. I would still consider my career to be fairly successful even if I never got to Broadway.
